Startups Give Back Chapter Rules
Before applying for a Startups Give Back chapter license, please read the follow rules carefully.

General
- Attendance: Startups Give Back event attendance is dependent on the nonprofit or cause you partner with
- Admissions: all Startups Give Back volunteering events are free of charge
Branding
- Logo use: The Startups Give Back logo must be used for all communications and branding
- Never change, add, or remove anything from the Startups Give Back logo
Chapter license
What you get with a chapter license
- Use of the Startups Give Back name, logo, and brand for volunteering events for the duration of your chapter license
- Organize and run an independent chapter of Startups Give Back
License approval
- All license applications must go through an approval process with the Startups Give Back team before they can become active
- Only one licensee (Chapter Leader) per application
License length
- All chapter licenses are active for one year from the time the chapter license application is approved by Startups Give Back
License renewal
- A chapter license is up for renewal one month before its one year end date
- Chapter leaders (licensees) must run at least 3 events within that year time frame to be eligible for license renewal
- Chapters that aren’t renewed by their end date can be applied for by other parties
License cancellation/termination
- Licenses can be canceled at any time by the main licensee, but it’s mandatory that Startups Give Back is informed
- Startups Gives Back can terminate your license at any time
Chapter naming
- All independently ran chapters of Startups Give Back must follow our standard naming convention: Startups Give Back followed by either a city or region suffix chosen by the chapter leader (e.g. Startups Give Back New York or Startups Give Back Denver)
- If a suffix is taken, another must be chosen
- Suffix abbreviations aren’t allowed (e.g. Startups Give Back LA should be Startups Give Back Los Angeles)
Chapter Leader responsibilities
- The Chapter Leader is the main organizer of the volunteering event for a given chapter
- Recruiting startups and other companies to join volunteering events
- All events must use Eventbrite pages to display volunteering event details, including: event description, locations, volunteering agreement, etc.
- Chapter leaders must maintain communication with attendees pre-event via email to give information
- Promoting event via social media as well
- Provide the Startups Give Back team a final email list of attendees pre-event
Legal
By applying for a Startups Give Back chapter license, you understand:
- Startups Give Back (the brand and its team) is not responsible for any injury, theft, or other crime that can happen at a volunteering event
- Startups Give Back reserves the right to deny chapter license applications for any reason
- Startups Give Back reserves the right to terminate chapters for any reason
- Any wrongful or harmful use of the Startups Give Back name, logo, or brand other than for its intended use will result in legal action
